I have a bit of a first world problem. With my new retina display screen, I’m uploading full-resolution, non-resized images to my WordPress.com blog, then relying on ImgPress to serve the correct resolution to devices, that is: 2x to retina devices. The problem is, EXIF rotation data is ignored when uploading the full size image in the app. I know there’s a RAM issue here, but surely there has to be some way to leverage EXIF rotation for full-res images? The patch attached to the ticket should be improved since it passes a variable that holds all the content of the picture to the filter. A temporary file on disk should be used there.

Do you modify the images in any other apps before uploading them? I just tried uploading full size images from all orientations straight from the camera and they all appeared correctly on my test blog.

I think that could depend on the device. I had the same issue on the BB app and ended up implementing a rotation feature within the app.

I’m using the Samsung Nexus S running stock Jelly Bean 4.1.1. This is my upload configuration in the app.
My process for every image on my blog is simply this: snap a photo using camera app, share with the WordPress app, type title, press publish. No modification being done in any other app.

Hello Sirs, is there anyway please please to add a “POST” option when you long-press on a post that’s in drafts…or BETTER yet an button at the bottom that will allow to “POST ALL DRAFTS”. It would make things so much easier for folks that make blog posts while offline. Also, when you’re editing a post, is there a possibility to put the “PUBLISH” button at the top instead of the bottom..this way I don’t have to scroll through all the “useless” stuff like location/settings/tags/post format…etc…or perhaps make a “simple mode” option in the settings that disables all that stuff and only leaves the subject+content. Hope I am being clear….sorry…thank you..
