Not sure why, but r714 removed the check for a 404 in the account registration view. This causes all error messages when adding an account to show the general ‘xmlrpc.php not found’ error, which isn’t helpful at all for new users that should receive the ‘XML-RPC services are disabled for this site’ error.

Created the 2.1.2 roadmap to get this released quickly, it contains one other fix that removes an invalid ‘alt’ attribute from linked images.
