      100% “Tab-proof” would be nice. :D
I’ve never been able to upload and link to full size images when using the Android version, any ideas if there’s a way to fix it? Asked a question earlier in the Android troubleshooting forum, but no one replies. It works using the brower, but not via the application.

For the life of me I cannot figure out why someone with a tablet would want to use a WordPress app when you have a full sized screen (Samsung Galaxy tab 10.1 in my case) and a browser. I am obviously missing something here. I am running the latest version of Android and WordPress, I see all the buttons and links in the Android browser but they all do not work, such as “insert photo”. So I installed the latest WordPress app and it’s darn right useless, at least it appears that way when I try to edit or size or position photos.

Why not fix WordPress for tablets and let us use the browser? I get it that it makes sense to have an Android app for a cell phone, but a tablet? I just don’t get it yet I am open to being schooled. Clearly I am missing something, but it seems like a waste of developers time and effort to create an app for a tablet that comes with a full sized screen and browser.

Does anyone at WordPress know that WordPress is crippled within the Android browser on tablets? Is anyone working on it? I have posted in several WordPress forums but so far no one has any answers. I could be asking in the wrong places, or asking the wrong questions.

I am so hip to someone explaining this to me. I really like WordPress and my Samsung Android tablet, I wish I could use them both but I can’t.

The Facebook app for Android is utterly useless yet tablet owners can surf the Facebook site with their browser, sadly we cannot publish to WordPress using a browser.

      Anyhow…

      Chris

The android browser doesn’t support contentEditable, that’s why the editor doesn’t work. If you switch to the HTML tab you can create a post in the browser.

The best place to request better support for the browser would be at http://core.trac.wordpress.org. We just focus on the app here, which will have tablet optimizations in the next release.

Dan thanks very much, I’ll follow that link for the support I’m looking for. And i figured I could do what I need to do with the HTML tab, but dang, that defeats the whole purpose huh? I might have to get savvy that way until a “fix” is in place. Thanks again for the guidance.

Tried the app out on the Honeycomb preview SDK, worked ok until you get to the tabbed blog view and it crashed at ViewRoot.draw(). Doesn’t look like it is the app’s fault though.

    Android 3.0

It looks like 2011 is the year for Android tablets. Would you use a WordPress app designed for Android 3.0, or just use the web browser?

A finger is definitely way fatter than a mouse cursor. Will have to try it hands-on to know for sure if that’s gonna be a problem. Of course, I foresee that fat finger-optimized interface will expectantly give a better experience.

Pretty sure I’d still like to use an app over the regular admin site. If there were a mobile version of the admin site, I might think differently…

That’s a good point. A mobile optimized dashboard would be really handy.

I am looking to develop a site using worpress with the help of some plugins. I wish to use this app as a starter-app for that site. I hope this is ok. Regards

An application for sure… I can create blogs on my computer easily (better than on any tablet). But what’s fine is the possibility to add a content on the go using the tablet.

I think for now it is just important to find some relativly quick solution. App would be nice if it would be updated on regular base. Im my opinion browser should be enough. 10″ is enouguse regular WP admin.
BTW, how it is possible to put this texthere and not to WP editor?
